IT'S A WRAP

The Spook Country tour's final event was night before last, Friday, when I read at the Vancouver International Writers Festival's Literary Cabaret, along with Jacqueline Baker, Barry Callaghan, Barbara Gowdy, Elizabeth Hay, and Benjamin Zephaniah. Sal Ferreras and his posse of musical improv wizards accompanied each of us in turn, and then we sat to sign books.
And then I drove home, a civilian again.
Thanks to everyone who helped out along the way, in the United States, the United Kingdom, and here in Canada.
And thanks again to the Rev. Rat, whose exceptionally kind gift now hangs, archivally framed, in the guest bedroom.
I guess I so wanted to believe that that was Lovecraft that I managed to ignore the actor's complete lack of HPLoid bone-structure. (Lovecraft was one distinctively-jawed New Englander.)
Faking elder footage on YouTube, though, has great potential as a form.
